Diecast Lotus
Lotus Cars, a British based company has been building high performance sports cars since 1952. From day one, Lotus was heavily involved in racing, especially Formula One racing.![]() |
The Lotus Esprit was developed in the 1970's and for many years, was a futuristic car that got the attention of the automotive world. With a small, 4 cylinder engine, the first version, the S1 was slightly unimpressive in the performance field. At just 140hp, it was able to achieve a 0-60mph time in around 8 seconds, which was not all that impressive.
Several variations of the Lotus Esprit were created, including a Turbo version which improved it's performance dramatically. A few touch-ups were done to the body and then in 1996 a V8 engine was added, increasing the power to 355hp. In the entire 28 years of the Lotus Esprit production run, just 10,675 were produced.
Currently the Lotus Elise and the Lotus Exige are turning heads. The Elise is a small roadster that is capable of going 150mph. This small, fast and nimble car is built for extreme handling and cornering. The Lotus Exige is another of car in the Lotus lineup, which is basically a coupe version of the Lotus Elise.
A Diecast Lotus will help bring these British performance cars to life, even if you can't afford the real thing.
